George Michael Mike Long

George Michael Long(Mike), 71, loving husband of 35 years to Joyce Long, entered into rest on Sunday, December 27, 2015.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at St. Augustine's Episcopal Church with The Rev. Joe Bowden officiating. Burial will follow in the church memorial garden.

Mike was a member of St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of Pinetucky Gun Club and the CSRA Shag Club. He was retired from Thermal Ceramics in Augusta.

In addition to his wife, survivors include his son; Steve Long (Allison) of Greensboro, NC, his daughter; Kathy vanWilgenburg (Ronald) of Elburn, IL, brother; Ronald J. Long (Janis) of Appling, GA, sister; Patricia Watts of Lexington, SC, two grandchildren; Justin Griffis and Samuel Long.

The family will receive friends at a reception at the church following the burial.
