George Arthur Beckman

Evans, GA – George Arthur Beckman, 86, entered into rest on Sunday January 11, 2009 at Westwood Nursing Facility.

A funeral mass will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday January 15, 2009 at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church with Rev. Gaspar Hegedus celebrant. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Beckman retired from State Farm Insurance, where he worked for 35 years. He was a marine and served during WWII. Mr. Beckman was the National Director of the American Morgan Horse Association.

Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Mary M. Beckman, three sons, Michael Beckman of Washington, D.C., John Beckman and wife Ramona of Colorado Springs, CO, Arthur Beckman and wife Nancy of Bloomington, IL, two daughters, Marilyn Bowcutt and husband Rocky of Grovetown, GA, Brenda Markel and husband Robert of Vinita, OK, eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and long time family friend, Ronald Stephenson.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday January 14, 2009 from 7:00PM until 9:00 PM.
