Gena Reid Price

Grovetown, GA---Ms. Gena Reid Price, 41, entered into rest on Thursday, July 23, 2009 at University Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm tomorrow, Monday, July 27, 2009 in the Platt’s Belair Road Chapel with Reverend Daryl Price officiating. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park.

Gena was born in Augusta and was a lifelong resident of the area. She was an avid golfer and dearly loved her frequent beach trips. She was a graduate of Westside High School and attended Georgia Southern and Augusta State University.

Gena was preceded in death by her father Gene Reid, who gave his life for his country in Viet Nam, in 1968, maternal grandfather Robert C. Calloway and paternal grandparents Johnnie H. and Doris Badger Reid.

She is survived by her daughter Alison Price, of Evans, GA, son Tim Price, of Martinez, GA, mother Dianne Reid Perkins, her dad Bill Perkins, both of Evans, GA, maternal grandmother Pauline Calloway, of Evans, GA, aunt Sheila Calloway Thompson and husband Jay B. Thompson, Sr., of Atlanta, GA and cousins Jay B. Thompson, Jr., Robert Edward Thompson and Kelli Thompson McHenry.

The family will receive friends today, Sunday, July 26, 2009, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Platt’s Belair Road.

Pallbearers will be Jay B. Thompson, Jr., Robert Edward Thompson, Dr. John R. Hodges, Jr., Scott Story, Bob Rountree and Rick Maybee.
