Grovetown – Mr. Gary Wayne Ward, 75, beloved husband of Sandra Carey Ward, entered into rest on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 16, 2017 at Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. K.C. Stevens and the Rev. Matthew Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Ward was an auto body technician at Cushman’s Paint and Body. He loved vintage cars and one of his favorite past times was attending car shows. He adored his grandchildren, and had a special relationship with his oldest granddaughter, who he called “Doll Baby”.

In addition to his wife, Sandra, he is survived by his sons; Gary Wayne Ward II (Libby) and James Carey Ward, his grandchildren; Madelynn, Jackson, Levi and Anna Ward, his brother; Donnie Ward, his sister; Patty Ratcliff (Matt), and his in laws; Randy Carey, Ronnie Carey (Nancy), Mike Davis (Candy) and Richard White (Bonnie). He was preceded in death by his parents; James George Ward and Thelma Margaret Vickers Ward, his daughter; Heather Lynn Ward and his sisters; Betty Jo Drummond and Barbara Ann Justice.

Pallbearers will be Mike Davis, Ron Carey, Gary Wayne Ward, James Carey Ward, Dennis Crowe, Mike Thomas, Bruce Kernaghan and Jimmy Cushman. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Parrish, Jim Slagle, Tim Young, Henry Brown, Gene Knox, Bobby Jewett, Kenny Phillips, Andrew Grimaud, Charles Storey and Jimmy Brooks.

If so desired, memorials may be made to Trinity Baptist Church, 4594 Columbia Road, Martinez, Georgia, 30907.

The family will receive friends at Platt’s Belair Road Chapel on Sunday, January 15, 2017 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM, and again one hour prior to the service at Trinity Baptist Church.
