Freddy J. Johnson

Martinez, GA – Freddy Joe Johnson, 79, loving husband of 55 years to Brenda Goings Johnson, entered into rest on Thursday, September 1, 2016.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at the Kroc Center with CSM John Gilliam officiating.

Freddy was born in Memphis, TN but had lived in Augusta for many years. He was a member of the Salvation Army most of his life and served as a Sunday school teacher for 15 years. He was also the Band Master of the Salvation Army Band and had a passion for music. Freddy retired from the Glidden Paint Store in Augusta, where he was the store manager. He was an avid Tennessee Volunteer football fan and more recently enjoyed visiting with senior citizens.

In addition to his wife, survivors include his son; Michael S. Johnson of Martinez, GA, sister in law; Grace Hammock, and many nieces and nephews.
