Mr. Frank Leonard Damiano, 70, husband of Adele Newman Damiano of 27 years entered into rest Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at his residence.

Frank was born in Augusta, GA in 1953 to Ida and Leonard Damiano. He attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from Aquinas High School in 1971. He graduated from Augusta College with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1975 where he was a member of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity. He graduated from Augusta Law School in 1981. Although he did not pursue his law degree, he used his knowledge of the law to become a successful businessman in work and with family issues.

From a night job at Georgia Railroad Bank & Trust, he worked his way through college. He continued his career in business as a sales manager for Davison Department store, a customer service manager for Homestead Manufacturing, in sales and collections for Annis Inc. with his best friend, Mike Annis, and an inventory control manager for Carole Fabrics. He was co-owner of Advanced Services, Inc. with his partner, Jeff Annis. He then worked for Progressive Insurance Agency as an adjuster.

After his Dad started having health issues, Frank began the journey of helping his Dad run A. Damiano, Inc., their family business which was started in 1939. After being diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2013, he continued working until retirement in 2019 leaving his stepson, Bert Smith to continue the Legacy until its closing in 2022.

In his younger days Frank loved to play tennis, racquetball, pool, and golf. But, working was what he loved most.

Although our quality of time together was limited because of work and caring for family, our fondest memories were gathering together with both of our families for holidays and celebrations.

Frank has left behind is wife, Del, his sister, Angela O’Brien (David), his nieces, Kelly Myers (Chad) and Katie O’Brien, his grandniece, Summer Myers, his stepsons, Bert Smith (Donna) and Brian Smith, his brother-in-law, Billy Newman (Karen) and his sister-in-law, Betsy McLean, his aunts, Gloria King (Gary) and Esterina Marina (Italy) and his cousin, Tony Damiano, Jr. as well as many other cousins in the US and Italy. His special Beagle Girls, Tabithia and Tessa.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ida and Leonard Damiano and best friend, Mike Annis, and his four-legged children, Casey, Whoosie, Scarlett and Sammy.

Frank was a member of St. Mary On The Hill Catholic Church.

A special thank you to his friends, Connie Smith, Herbie Flick, Donnie Burden, Eddie Smith, and Jerry Brigham for always taking time for him and Del’s Cousin, Janet who was always available when needed.

Special thanks to Trinity Hospice and Visiting Angels especially Lori and Debbie who cared for him with great compassion.
