Frances Scott Willis

Augusta, GA – Frances Scott Willis, beloved wife of the late Cam Willis, Jr., was born on June 7, 1922 in Burke County, GA and died peacefully in Augusta, GA on February 17, 2014.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Platt’s Crawford Avenue Chapel with Rev. John West officiating. Burial will be private.

Mrs. Willis attended high school in Waynesboro and also attended Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville. She was a friend, mentor, and glorious example to more people in the Augusta community than can be expressed. Mrs. Willis was much loved and will live on in the hearts of many.

Mrs. Willis is survived by her beloved son, John Scott Higdon; her grandchildren, Angela Nicole Higdon, Sarah Frances Higdon, John Paul Higdon, and Tina Wyndham; her sister, Mildred Scott McGoldrick; several great-grandchildren; her dog, Buddy; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Willis was preceded in death by her son, Robert Frank Higdon.

The family would like to thank Nancy Powell and the staff at Kentwood Nursing Facility.
