Frances Lever Mears

Frances Lever Mears, 83, died Monday April 11, 2016 with her family by her side at Select Speciality Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Christ Episcopal Church with Rev. Curtis Johnson officiating. Interment to follow at Westover Memorial Park. Frances was a loving wife to her beloved late husband of nearly 50 years, Charles Francis Mears, Jr., son of the late Eula Mae Bates (Hankinson) and Charles F. Mears Sr.. Frances also preceded in death by her parents, Charles W. Lever, Sr. and Julia Buck Lever of Augusta, a grandson, Calvin Joseph Mears Jr, (Joe) of Asheville, two sisters, Evelyn Lever Harris, and Doris Lever Johnson and her brother, Charles W. Lever Jr., of Augusta. Frances is survived by two sons, Charles F. Mears III and Calvin J. Mears (Faye Walker), two daughters, Christa M. Eremito (Tommy), of Augusta and Cheri M. Yaeger (Dr. Ted), of Daytona Beach Shores, Florida; a brother in law, Frank H. Mears and a sister, Billie L. Key, of Augusta. In addition, Frances was a proud grandmother of thirteen grandchildren: Melissa E. Yawn (Mark)of Augusta, Carla E. McCoy (David), Angela E. Mantlow, and Tommy G. Eremito (Jennifer), of Evans, Ga, Theodore E. Yaeger V (Teddy), Charles B. Yaeger (Brady), and Nicholas J. Yaeger of Daytona Beach Shores, William W. Mears and Susan Mears of Asheville, NC and Alicia Mears of Appling, GA and Kim M. Blackstone of Waynesboro, Ga. Frances was also blessed with fifteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins in the Augusta area. Frances loved spending time with her family and especially loved her pug, Beau, who was always by her side. She loved her hometown of Augusta, Georgia, attended Tubman High school and was a lifelong member of Christ Episcopal Church. Heaven received an Angel the day she passed and she will be truly missed by all who loved her. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Easler, Tommy Eremito Jr, Chandler Yawn, Teddy Yaeger, Brady Yaeger, and Nicholas Yaeger. If so desired, memorials can be made to Christ Episcopal Church, 1904 Greene St., Augusta, Ga 30904. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening, April 15, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
