Grovetown, GA – Floyd C. Pelfrey, 81, entered into rest on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at the Georgia War Veterans Home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA.
Floyd retired from the United States Army after 27 years of service and was a proud veteran. During his military career, he was the recipient of the Distinguished Service Cross, the Silver Star, and two Bronze Stars. He was a combat veteran of the Korean War and served three tours in Vietnam. Floyd was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his family and his country. Floyd also worked for Kroger as the Seafood Manager for 10 years.
Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Phyllis Pelfrey of Grovetown, GA, one son, Timothy Scott Pelfrey and wife Nancy Jean of Asheville, NC, one brother, Charles Edward Pelfrey and wife Wilma Ruth of Ashland, KY, four grandchildren, Christopher Pelfrey, Phyllis Sue Costello, Tiffany Carpenter, John Levi Pelfrey, and five great grandchildren. Floyd was preceded in death by his son, John Mack Pelfrey.
