Florence Christina O'Brien Rutan

Martinez, GA – Florence Christina O’Brien Rutan, 84, wife of the late Rexford Douglas Rutan, entered into rest on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Doctor’s Hospital.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Platt’s Funeral Home Belair Rd. chapel with Rev. Mike Ingram officiating.

Mrs. Rutan was a dedicated military wife who traveled across the United States as well as Europe. She retired from Richs Dept. store in Augusta, GA having worked many years in the bridal registry department. She enjoyed her family, reading, crosswords, plays, and movies. She was extremely proud of her Irish heritage. She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Mary A. Fortino and husband Gene of Martinez, GA, Kathryn P. Davis of Evans, GA, Patricia J. Rutan of Augusta, GA, Kelly C. Mann of Evans, GA, brother, George L. O’Brien and wife Barbara of Westerly, RI, nine grandchildren, James B. Benes, Kerry C. Benes, Joanne B. Scott, Christina R. Fortino, Rexford R. Davis, Michael S. Fortino, Olivia M. Mann, Dario J. Mann, Fabio D. Mann, three great grandchildren, Erin F. Benes, Jackson F. Scott, and Juliet F. Scott. Mrs. Rutan was preceded in death by two sons-in-law, the late Richard B. Benes and the late Roger H. Davis.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.
