Evelyn Denton Mrs. Raley

Martinez – Mrs. Evelyn Denton Raley, beloved widow of the late H.G. Raley, went home to be with the Lord on Friday morning, October 17, 2014.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at Platt’s Belair Road Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Coleman officiating. Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery.

Mrs. Raley, a member of Lake Park Baptist Church, had worked as a cake decorator at Claussen’s Bakery, before going on to work at Kendall as a machine operator. She was known for her fondness for fishing, camping and gardening, and she loved her pets.

She is survived by her grandson; Joseph Pate, her great granddaughter; Alexis Pate, her sister; Marie Hennen (Bill), and her brothers; Marion Denton (Barbara) and Laverne “Burnie” Denton (Elaine). In addition to her husband, H.G. Raley, she was preceded in death by her parents; William and Maude Denton, her sons; Larry E. Pate, Gerald “Jody” Pate, and Louis Serio, her brother; Eugene Denton and her sister; Vivian “Vickie” Remkus.

Pallbearers will be Tom Remkus, Keith Remkus, William Hennen, Creg Rabun, Carl Moseley and Billy Hennen, Jr.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening, October18, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
