Elsie Dodd Unroe

AUGUSTA- Mrs. Elsie M. Unroe, 90, went to be with her Lord on January 31, 2009 at Westwood Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at 2:00PM at Westminster Presbyterian Church with Dr. Larry Gilpin officiating. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park.

Mrs. Unroe was born in Clifton Forge, Virginia on March 19, 1918 and resided in Virginia until she moved to Augusta in 1998.

Mrs. Unroe was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Seth A. Unroe. She is survived by her two daughters, Connie Gates of Augusta, GA. and Patricia Raymond of West Chester, PA., her six grandchildren, Amy Gates of Augusta, Cullen Rodgers-Gates of Durham, N.C., Libby Gates of Valdosta, GA. , Emily Gates of Lynchburg, VA., Carrie Gates of Wilmore, KY., and Matthew Raymond of Raleigh, N.C., and her five great grandchildren, Hannah, Ethan and Caleb Rodgers-Gates and Julia and Carter Raymond.

Pallbearers will be Robb Adams, David Hanks, Jack Morris, Matthew Raymond, Cullen Rodgers-Gates, and Gene Striker.

The family would like to thank Westwood Nursing Home for the more than five years of care given to Mrs. Unroe.

If so desired, memorials may be made to the building fund of Westminster Presbyterian Church, 4303 Wheeler Road, Martinez, GA., 30907.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening, February 2, 2009 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
