Elizabeth D. Sharpton

Augusta, GA--- Ms. Elizabeth D. Sharpton, 91, entered into rest on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at Golden Living Center- Augusta.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2011 at 11:00 am, in the Platt’s Crawford Avenue Chapel with Reverend Gary DeMore officiating. Interment will follow at Southview Cemetery.
Ms. Sharpton was a native of Augusta, GA and was a graduate of the Hanes Private School of Augusta. She retired from the Medical College of Georgia, following more than 25 years of service. Ms. Sharpton was a former member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and Central Baptist Church and was presently a member of St. John United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her son, Thomas Sharpton, Jr., MD of Reno, NV, daughter, Saundra Sharpton, grandson, Darryl T. Sharpton, both of West Columbia, SC, granddaughter, Tiffany M. Golack and great grandson, Zaquez A. Golack, both of Augusta, GA.
Pallbearers will be James Donahue, Marc Williams, Willie Banks and Roger Huff III.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 6, 2011 from 10:00 am until the time of services at Platt’s Crawford Avenue.
