Elaine Nicholson Paul

Elaine Nicholson Paul, 79, beloved wife of the late Michael George Paul, entered into rest on Wednesday, October 24, 2018.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 29, 2018 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church with Rev. Vasile Bitere officiating. Interment to follow at Westover Memorial Park.

Mrs. Paul was a graduate of the Academy of Richmond County, the University of Georgia, and the Augusta Law School. Her greatest love was caring for her special nephew George C. Nicholson.

She was a world traveler, and a devoted supporter of animal causes.

Early in her career, she was a teacher at Lynndale School, and retired from juvenile court after many years. In the early years, she and her husband were owners and operators of a motel.

She and her husband served as interpreters for the Greek Army Offices at Fort Gordon. They received a special recognition for their services.

Mrs. Paul is survived by her brothers, Christopher George Nicholson, and Sam George Nicholson (Susan); her sister, Jacqueline Nicholson Swain; her nieces and nephews, George Christopher Nicholson, James “Jimmy” Christopher Nicholson, Katie Nicholson Wynn (Rob), George Samuel “Sam” Nicholson (AnneMarie), Jane Nicholson Kuhlenbeck (Adam), Irisi Papapavllo, Melisa Papapavllo, and Pavli Papapavllo, sisters-in-law Adriana Papapavllo, and Malinda Carr; and by numerous godchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening, October 28, 2018 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM. A Trisagion will be held at 6:00 PM.

Pallbearers will be George Samuel Nicholson, James Christopher Nicholson, Mike Leonard, Danny Sheehan, Demetrius Williams, and Isaiah Williams.
