Mrs. Nettie E. Powell

Jacksonville, FL – Mrs. Nettie E. Powell, 85, beloved wife of Lester Powell, entered into rest on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida.

Cryptside services will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mrs. Powell attended Jacksonville High School in Jacksonville, N.C., and graduated in the class of 1941. She served as a nurse’s aid in Onslow County Hospital and as a bookkeeper at the Marine Corps Exchange Service at Camp Lejeune.

Her family will remember her as a loving and caring wife and mother.

In addition to her husband, Lester, she is also survived by her two sons, Lester E. Powell Jr., and his wife, Anne of Marietta, GA. and Herbert L. Powell and wife, Kathy of Guyton, GA., her grandchildren, Megan K. Powell, Michael H. Powell and Justin J. Powell, a brother, Acey F. Taylor of Jacksonville, N.C. and her sister, Marie DeFillippi of Jupiter, FL.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, February 18, 2012 from 4:00 until 6:00 PM.
