Grovetown, GA – Mr. Eddie Gene Whaley, 62, entered into rest on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at his residence.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at Platt’s Belair Chapel with the Rev. Donnie Burns.

Mr. Whaley enjoyed fishing with his grandsons and golfing. He was an excellent skilled wood craftsman. Early in his career, he built homes and later in life, downsized to making custom built cabinets which are in many homes in the CSRA today.

Mr. Whaley is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth Dawn Calvert, Tonya Leigh Sheets, and Brandie Jean Whaley; his grandsons, Lance Corporal Spenser Ryan Small, Lance Corporal Zachari Luke Small, Sean Austin Scott, Caleb Seth Whaley; his granddaughter, Kayla Grace Calvert; and by his former wife of 35 years, Janis Sears Whaley.
