Douglas M. Luke

Evans, GA – Douglas M. Luke, 88, loving husband of 71 years to Lila Luke entered into rest on Tuesday, March 11, 2014.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Platt’s Funeral Home Belair Rd. Chapel. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Luke served in the United States Army Air Corp during WWII. He was the owner and operator of Luke’s Garbage Disposal.

In addition to his wife, survivors include his son; Phillip M. Luke of Evans, GA, two daughters; Lucinda Burks (Gary) of Evans, GA, Denise Bartles (Stan) of Appling, GA, six grandchildren; Lynn Booth, Doug Burks, Chasity Hughes, Shannon Moore, Jennifer Keenan, Christopher Luke, eight great grandchildren; Burke Booth, Cody Hughes, Alexis Hughes, Savannah Burks, Sarah Beth Burks, Jackson Keenan, Brooklyn Keenan, and Denver Keenan.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Emory Sayer Sunday School Class.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 14, 2014 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank Katherine Berry of Westwood Nursing Facility for all the special care that was given.
