Doris L. Mrs. Johnson

Augusta, GA---Mrs. Doris L. Johnson entered into rest on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Trinity Hospice of Augusta, following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am tomorrow, Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Christ Episcopal Church, 1900 Greene Street, with Reverend Lynn B. Prather officiating. Interment will follow at West View Cemetery.
Mrs. Johnson was a native of Augusta, Georgia and was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, where she was also a member of the choir.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Hanford Johnson, Sr., parents, Charles W. Lever, Sr. and Julia Buck Lever, brother, Charles W. Lever, Jr. and sister, Evelyn L. Harris.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her son, Stephen H. Johnson, Jr. of Lawrenceville, GA, daughters, Jan Johnson Swearingen (Robert) of Augusta, GA and Debra Johnson Chesterman of Snellville, GA, sisters, Billie L. Key and Frances L. Mears, both of Augusta, GA, grandchildren, David N. Grimsley, Jr., Scott W. Grimsley, Katherine Grimsley Young (Andrew), Amie E. Swearingen and Julie A. Swearingen, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be David Grimsley, Jr., Robert Swearingen, Andrew Young, William G. Harris, Jr., Frank Murphy and Jeff Murphy.
The family will receive friends this evening, Friday, May 3, 2013 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Platt’s Crawford Avenue.
