Donald Hugh Slate

Grovetown, GA – Don H. Slate, 81, loving husband of Chris Slate, entered into rest on Wednesday, July 10, 2013.

In the 1960’s Don worked for Sear’s in Augusta. For the next 20 years he lived in many cities, working in retail furniture. In 1980 he returned to his home state, Alabama, where he sold supplemental insurance until his retirement in 2003. After retirement, he moved to Augusta and lived in Grovetown for the last 10 years.

In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Donald R. Slate (Nita) of CA, Charlie Slate (Martha) of OR, two daughters, Nancy Tracy (Bill) of FL, Donna Moore (Tommy)of Harlem, GA, one sister, Elaine Story of Augusta, GA, seven grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. Don was preceded in death by his daughter, the late Judy Webster.

In accordance with Don’s wishes, there will be no formal service held at this time.
