David Holt Blount

Mr. David Holt Blount 65, beloved husband of Margaret T. “Beth” Blount, went home to be with his Lord and savior on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday, March 27, 2022, at Platt’s Belair Road Chapel with the Chaplin Harold Jones officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 until time of service followed in the chapel and the “Last Ride.”
He was born in Augusta, Georgia and preceded by his parents Holt and Claire Blount. He was a retired fireman with the Augusta-Richmond County Fire Department and water rescue for 36 years. He received many awards and titles in his life, but none were better than the titles of husband, father, papa, brother, and friend to everyone. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially at Tybee Island. He will always be remembered for his Giant heart, his bright smile, and his unconditional love and friendship. “Always be Thankful” was David’s motto. In life, no matter how bad it is there is always something to be thankful for!
In addition to his wife, Beth, he is survived by his children, April & Brian Simpson, David & Christina Blount, his brothers, Joe & Debbie Blount and Randy & Diana Blount, and his grandchildren, Holt, Claire, Walker, Brooks, and John.
The family would like to thank Dr. Parikh and all the nurses on the 4th floor of the oncology floor at University Hospital, as well as Kindred Hospice of Columbia County and his special nurse Leah Anderson. Your love, support, and kindness are so appreciated.
