David Alan Powers

Martinez, GA – David Alan Powers, 75, entered into rest on Saturday, July 25, 2015.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Platt’s Funeral Home Belair Rd. Chapel with Rev. Tom Kalliokoski officiating.

David was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army. He served in the Vietnam War and was the recipient of the Bronze Star Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal with two bronze service stars. David was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He enjoyed playing golf, boating, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters; Donna Michelle Powers Braithwaite (Andrew) of Augusta, GA, Andrea Lynne Powers Johnson of Augusta, GA, one brother; Don Powers (Lois) of Longwood, FL, two grandchildren; Caroline Elisabeth Carnahan, Chadwick Madison Johnson, one great grandchild; Eryn Anslee Johnson, and nephews; Brent, Brook, and Brandon Powers.
