Augusta, GA – Corean Plunkett Goldman, 96, beloved wife of the late Rudolph W. Goldman, entered into rest on Saturday, October 27, 2012.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Warren Baptist Church with Dr. David McKinley officiating. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park.

Corean was born in Aiken, SC to the late Wiley Lawrence Plunkett and the late Ida Williams Plunkett. She attended the Baptist Hospital Nursing School in Columbia, SC until the death of her mother. At this time, she assumed the duties of caring for her siblings. Corean married her husband, the late Rudolph W. Goldman in 1939. Together they owned and operated Fairway Square shopping center in Augusta, GA. Corean was a member of Warren Baptist Church for over 60 years. During the early years, Corean and other ladies in the church helped coordinate weddings, meals, and other various activities. Her greatest joy in life was her family and serving others. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and entertaining guest. Corean had a servant’s heart and loved helping others.

Survivors include her son; David R. Goldman and wife Cathy of Augusta, GA, daughter-in-law; Adriene Goldman of Evans, GA, one grandson; Colin Goldman of Evans, GA, her brother; Olin Plunkett and wife Catherine of Augusta, GA, two step-grandchildren (Denise and Dwayne) and three great step-grandchildren (Ryan, Tanner and MaKenzie Grace); a number of nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her husband, Corean was preceded in death by her beloved son; the late Michael W. Goldman.

Pallbearers will be Ray Feaster, James R. Stone, Joe Pulliam, Joe Greer, Robert Pollard, and Mark Plunkett.

The family will receive friends at the church in Simmons Hall on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 one hour prior to service time. The family is very thankful for our Caregivers, Gwen Barnes and Elizabeth Harmon for their faithful service during Corean’s illness.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Warren Baptist Church Debt Retirement, 3203 Washington Rd. Augusta, GA 30907.
