Carolyn E. Cashin, 98, entered into rest on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at her family home. She passed away peacefully.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 19, 2017 at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church with Rev. Gerald Ragan serving as celebrant. Interment to follow in Westover Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in the church narthex beginning at 10:30 AM.

Carolyn was born in Augusta in 1919 to John J. Cashin Jr. and Norma Markwalter Cashin and lived in her family home in Augusta for all of her wonderful years. Carolyn was the oldest of seven children. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Cele, Jack, Mary, and George. She is survived by her brother Henry of Augusta and her sister Dorothy of St. Cloud, Minnesota and also many beloved nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

Carolyn graduated from Mount St. Joseph Catholic School and then attended
Business school. Her first job was with the Superior Court of Georgia. She also worked at Fort Gordon and the V.A. Hospital for a total of 31 years of government service. Carolyn was a people person and loved to talk with everyone wherever she went. She stayed current with politics and was very proud that she voted in every election. She loved visits and conversations with all her nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank all of the wonderful caregivers for the
loving care they provided Carolyn, especially in her last days. A special thanks to Linda and Fran for all their care and love they showed Carolyn over the past two years.
