Evans, GA – Mr. Bobby Marion Bradford, 75, entered into the gates of Heaven on Thursday, March 8, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Barbara Cumbus Bradford for 31 years. He was born in Appling, GA and lived in Columbia County all of his life. He retired from Southern Bell with 32 years of service and he was General Manager for Prather Construction Company for 5 years. He also served in the National Guard for 3 years. Bobby was instrumental in starting the Appling Jaycees and he was twice president of Woodmen of the World Camp 1579. He was a member of Telephone Pioneers and a member of Kiokee Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 12, 2012 at Kiokee Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Hartman officiating. Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Bradford is survived by his daughters: Cindy Foxx (Doug), Canton, GA; Elaine Johnson (Michael), Grovetown, GA; sons: William Bradford (Rilla), Evans, GA; Shaw Bradford (Marianne), Appling, GA; Bobby Bradford, Jr., Martinez, GA; Jason Bradford (Sunni), Evans, GA; step son: Thomas Hitt, III, Evans, GA; sister: Francis Smith, Summerville, SC; and former wife Victoria Bradford, Martinez, GA; 13 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a host of nephews and nieces. He will be missed.

Special thanks to Trinity Hospice and especially to Cindy, Mollie, and Sandra Lewis for their exceptional care of Mr. Bobby.

The family will receive friends at Platt’s Funeral Home of Sunday, March 11, 2012 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Tracy McDaniel’s Sunday School Class.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Parkinson’s Foundation, 1501 NW 9th Ave., Bob Hope Rd., Miami, FL 33136-9990 or to Kiokee Baptist Church Benevolence Fund, 2520 Ray Owens Rd., Appling, GA 30802.
