Billy Joe Hill

Martinez, GA – Billy Joe Hill, 80, husband of the late Lenora E. Hill, entered into rest on Monday, May 19, 2014.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Platt’s Funeral Home Belair Rd. Chapel with Pastor Barry Clanton officiating. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.

Billy retired from the United States Army in May of 1973. He was a sergeant in the Avionics Division and served three tours in Vietnam (62-63, 66-67, 69-70). Billy was a member of Columbia County Christian Church and the Co-Founder of Dixie Wheels Car Club.

Survivors include two sons; Clint Hill, John Hill (Terri), two daughters; Teresa Story (Bruce), Gina Hill Lyon (Shane), one brother; Henry Edgar Hill of Shreveport, LA, one sister; Patsy Ellen Nichols of Paris, KY, 10 grandchildren; April, Aaron, Amber, Auston, Melissa, Dale, Taylor, Jack, Cathy, Dalton, 9 great grandchildren; Ashton, Abigail, Landon, Madison, Joseph, Frank, Tyler, Lilly, and Melony. In addition to his wife, Billy was preceded in death by his son, the late Stephen Hill.

Pallbearers will be Bruce Story, Donald McKinney, Aaron Hill, Tony Denniston, Paul Felberg, and Donnie Doyle.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
