Beverly was born in Elberton, GA but lived in the Augusta area for many years. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, and being outdoors. One of her greatest joys in life was being involved with her children. She could be seen at every sporting event or activity they were a part of.

Beverly earned a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Nursing from The Medical College of Georgia, where she later spent her entire career. She received the award for Nurse of the Year in 2000 and retired as Nurse Manager. She had a genuine love for helping people and after retirement, she continued helping others by working at a local nursing home.

Beverly fought long and hard to the very end of her illness. On Sunday, she was carried home by a band of angels.

In addition to her husband, survivors include her son; Wes Ward (Tiffanie), daughter; Ashley Ward, parents; Horace and Betty Jo Adams, one sister; Susan Fernandez (John), one brother; Steve Adams (Mary), nieces; Jennifer Edmonds, Lori E. Tom (Taylor), nephews; Daniel Edmonds, Scott Adams (Brandy), Matthew Adams (Brandy); and seven great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Brenda Joy Adams on December 12, 1953.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Edmonds, Scott Adams, Matthew Adams, Allen Fuller, John McCarthy, Hyland Bunn, and Chris Mercer. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends from 5:00PM until 7:00PM on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at the funeral home.

The family would like to acknowledge all the nurses and staff at University Hospital Heart and Vascular Institute for all the care and compassion that was given. Special thanks to Dr. David Allen for his untiring efforts during Beverly’s illness. Special thanks to Dr. Ward Rogers for his years of care as primary care physician, neighbor, and friend along with his two medical assistants, Shelby and Traci. Also, a special thanks to all of Beverly’s close friends who have supported her in various ways during her courageous battle.
