Augusta GA - Mrs. Betty Wood Lovett, 77, entered into rest on Monday, June 16, 2008 at her childhood home..
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at 3:00 pm, in the Platt’s Funeral Home Belair Road Chapel, with Dr. Al Cadenhead officiating. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park.
Mrs. Lovett was a native and lifelong resident of Augusta and was a graduate of the Tubman School for Girls. She was a member of Warren Baptist Church, where she was co-teacher of the Gleaners Sunday School Class and a member of the Joy Club. She was an auxiliary member of Gideons International Metro Camp, where she was a past President and Chaplain. She also served as Chaplain of Georgia Gideons International. She served as a Sunday School Teacher, in the Prison Ministry of Richmond County, for 45 years. Mrs. Lovett was also a volunteer at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Mrs. Lovett is survived by her husband of 55 years, James Cuylor Lovett, daughter and son in law, Kathy and Mason Moorer, two grandchildren, Cuylor Leverett and Katy Jane Leverett and a special cousin, Vivian Robinson.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at Platt’s Belair Road, from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm.
Pallbearers will be Walter Lovett, Anthony Woods, Steve Coyle, Chip Lovett, Wesley Woods, Marcus Lovett and Anthony Lovett.
