Betty Mulherin Mrs. Logan

Augusta, GA---Mrs. Elizabeth “Betty” Mulherin Logan, 89, beloved wife of Vance Earl Logan, Jr. entered into rest on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at her residence. Betty was the daughter of the late James Bernard and May Claire Mulherin.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church with Father Jerry Ragan as celebrant. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park.
Betty was a devoted wife, loving mother, generous grandmother, and avid member of St Mary on the Hill Catholic Church for 89 years, serving as organist for 16 years. She was actively involved in various non-profit organizations such as Birthright of Augusta, Deanery Council of Catholic Women, Right to Life, and Savannah Diocese CCW. Betty’s passion was protecting the Lord’s unborn children. In her youth, Betty was a member of the Sodality of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Legions of Mary, and Carondelet Society of Fontbonne College, where she graduated.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years Vance Earl Logan, Jr.; her sons, James Logan (Shirley), Charles Logan (Joann), Vance Logan (Kim); daughters, Mayclare Scherer (Dan), Anne Marie Harvey, Carson Johnson (Mark); 17 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren. Additionally, Betty is survived by sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Mulherin, Louise Mulherin, and Barbara Mulherin; special friends and caregivers, Angela O’Brien, Lucille Burnett, and Debra Murrell. She was preceded in death by a baby girl, Frances; her brothers, Jimmy, Patrick, Matthew, and Bernard Mulherin; and by her sister, Mary Dunaway (Ralph).
Pallbearers will be Joseph Scherer, Charles Scherer, Richard Scherer, Bernard Scherer, Shane Harvey, Joshua Logan, Matthew Logan, Earl Logan, Cameron Logan, Chris Page, and Timothy Marino.

The Rosary, led by the family, will be recited at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 in the Platt’s Crawford Avenue Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service from 6:30 pm until 8:00 pm, at the funeral home.
