Betty C. Long Bailey

Augusta – Mrs. Betty C. Long Bailey, 89, entered into rest on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Kentwood Nursing Facility.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Platt’s Belair Road Chapel with Charles Judkins and the Rev. Dr. Mike Shearon officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mrs. Bailey was a longtime member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She was known for her love of gardening, fishing and camping, and she loved to cook for her friends and family.

She is survived by her sons, Ronald J. Long (Janis) and Mike Long (Joyce), her daughter, Patricia A. Watts, her grandchildren, Katherine Long VanWilgenburg, Roddy Long, Donnie Watts, Steven Long, Bobby Long and Leslie Long-Hoffman, as well as her eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jesse LaRoland Long and Robert Bailey, and her nine brothers and sisters.

The family would like to thank the staff at Kentwood Nursing Facility for the care that was given to Mrs. Bailey.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening, March 29, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
