Evans, GA. Mr. Bernard Reid Davis, Sr., age 76 , husband of Mrs. Katherine Davis, entered into rest at his residence on May 28, 2009.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 1, 2009 in the Belair Rd. Chapel of Platt’s Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Marcus Holt and Reverend Dewain French officiating. Interment to follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include, one son, Reid (Vickie) Davis of Evans, three daughters, Shirley Davis of Evans, Ann (Jerry) Ikner of Martinez, and Kathy Davis of Evans. Three brothers, Charles (Elizabeth) Davis of Wrens, Alvin (Carolyn) Davis of Grovetown, Dorsey (Shirley) Davis of Augusta. Three sisters, Cynthia (Steve) Bayazes of Augusta, Bernice (Willie) Huff of Hephzibah, and Mamie Oldham of Augusta. Six grandchildren, David (Andrea) Gay, Sherry (Jason) Garnto, Jason (Jaime) Melcher, Jeremy Melcher, Heather (Tommy) Lee, Amanda Davis, Hannah and Jesse Carmichael. Great grandchildren: Savannah, Taylor, Hunter, Carter, Keaton, Keslee, and Tanner. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by two sisters, Emma Lou Lawton and Kate Lovelace, and two brothers, Lonnie Davis and Tommy Davis.

Mr. Davis was retired from the Plumbers and Steam Fitters Local Union #150. He attended the Apostolic Cathedral of Praise. Bernard loved working on his farm and loved his animals. He had a wonderful sense of humor and always kept the family laughing at his jokes. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association 1899 Central Ave. Augusta, GA. 30904.

Pallbearers will be Jason Garnto, Tommy Lee, David Gay, Jeremy Melcher, Jason Melcher, David Carmichael and Richard Pacheco.

Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Plumbers and Steam Fitters Local Union # 150.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home
