Ben Eugene Jones

Mr. Ben Eugene Jones, beloved husband of Juanita Copeland Jones, entered into rest on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at the Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home.
A celebration of Ben’s life will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at Platt’s Belair Road Chapel with the Rev. George Rolling officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Ben was a veteran of the US Army, having served from 1950 to 1953. He worked with Deerfield Specialty Company from 1969 until his retirement in 1995 and was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Evans. He stayed active after retiring and hiked the Appalachian Trail when he was 64.

In addition to his wife of 48 years, Juanita, he is survived by his sons; Jeremy Jones (Terri) of Ellicott City, MD., and Anthony Jones (Erin) of Augusta, his granddaughters; Megan and Caroline Jones, of Ellicott City, MD., his brothers; Clyde Jones (Lou) of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Randy Jones of Decatur, GA., a sister, Carla Bell (David) of Cartersville, GA, and a sister in law, Betty Jones of Gastonia, N.C. He was preceded in death by his brothers; Dempsey and Dean, and a sister in law, Hazel.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, PO Box 96011, Washington DC 20090-6011.
