Barbara Lee Hobbs Jackson

d. June 24, 2019

Barbara Lee Hobbs Jackson, entered into rest on Monday, June 24, 2019- three days following her 81st birthday.

Mrs. Jackson was born in Atlanta to the late James C. Hobbs and Clara Lee Logan Hobbs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel “Scott” Jackson; sister, Pauline Cash; and brother, Vernon Hobbs.

She was a member of Curtis Baptist Church for more than 45 years where she enjoyed keeping the nursery. Witness of her love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was evidenced through her leading others in prayer- even in the last years as her health declined. Mrs. Jackson loved to remind everyone that her birthday was the first day of summer- the longest day of the year. She was a faithful wife, and devoted mother and grandmother- bragging to anyone who would listen about her two daughters and seven grandsons.

She is survived by her two daughters, Connie Jackson Sizemore (Michael, Sr.) and Rhonda Jackson Minter (Dr. David Minter), both of Evans; grandchildren, Michael Sizemore, Jr., Daniel Scott Sizemore (Caroline), Joshua Brian Minter, Daniel Thomas Minter (Alexandria), Samuel James Minter (Katelyn), Caleb Edward Minter (Stacey), and Matthew Cameron Sizemore; and great grandson, MacDonald “Mac” Sizemore. After many years of only boys, “Grandma” was finally anticipating the birth of her first great granddaughter, Maggie-James Sizemore.

Interment will be private in Westover Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Curtis Baptist Church, 1348 Broad Street, Augusta, Georgia 30901.
