Arbie Franklin Thomas

Appling, GA – Arbie Franklin Thomas, 86, husband of 58 years of Carlee Thomas, entered into rest on Saturday, November 21, 2015.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Platt’s Funeral Home Belair Rd. Chapel with Rev. Andy Collins officiating. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM at Screven County Memorial Cemetery in Sylvania, GA.

Arbie was an electrician and retired from IBEW Local 1579. After retirement, he worked part time at Wal-Mart as a greeter because he enjoyed interacting with others. He also enjoyed hunting and being outdoors. Arbie loved spending time with his family and watching the Atlanta Falcons.

In addition to his wife, survivors include his son; Arbie F. Thomas (Cathy) of Ft. Mill, SC, daughter; Janet Carlton of Evans, GA, brother; James Thomas (Andrea) of N. Augusta, SC, five grandchildren; Sarah Thomas, Art Thomas, Sam Thomas, David Watkins, and Ashlie Carlton. Arbie was preceded in death by two brothers; Talmadge Thomas, Rudy Thomas, and son-in-law; Stanley Carlton.

The family will receive friends from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Monday, November 23, 2015 at the funeral home.
