Anne S. Wiggs

Augusta, GA – Mrs. Anne Shotkosky Wiggs, wife of the late Jesse Edwin Wiggs, Jr. entered into rest on Saturday August 2, 2008, at University Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church on Monday, August 4, 2008 at 2:00 pm, with The Reverend Harriette Simmons and Reverend Matthew Nelson officiating. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park

Mrs. Wiggs was born in Jermyn, PA and was a resident of Honesdale, PA prior to moving to Augusta. Mrs. Wiggs was a member of St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church and of the St. Clare’s Guild. She was active in several civic and cultural organizations including a lifetime member and past president of St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary since 1970 and District Director of the East Central Council of Auxiliaries for six years. She was also a member of the Pinnacle Club, West Lake Country Club, a former member of the Suburban Woman’s Club and the Merry Weeders Garden Club. Mrs. Wiggs was also a member of the Sacred Heart Cultural Center and a volunteer with the American Cancer Society.

Survivors include a sister, Alfreda McDaniel and husband Walter of Orlando, Florida.

The body will lie in state, at the Church, on Monday, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
No visitation is scheduled at the Funeral Home.
