Augusta, GA - Anne Philpot Irvin died at Trinity Hospital on November 4, 2008. She was the daughter of the late Anita Brenner Philpot and De Saussure Ford Philpot. Also preceding her in death was her brother Dr. De Saussure Ford Philpot, Jr. Surviving Anne is her devoted daughter, Anita Irvin.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2008 at 12:00 PM at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church with Reverend Gerald P. Ragan officiating.
Anne was born in Augusta, attended local schools and graduated from Converse College in Spartanburg, SC. She was a past member of the Jr. League of Augusta and volunteered in various civic and charitable organizations. Having a love for animals, she was generous supporter of the CSRA Humane Society of Augusta.
Anne was a member of St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church where she volunteered for 14 years with the Senior Aerobic Program. She considered this her most enjoyable and rewarding volunteer position.
Excellent care was provided by Trinity Home Health Care, Hospice, Trinity and University Hospitals, Dr. Brent Limbaugh and all the staff especially Donna and Judy, RN, Freda and Tricia Scoggins, RN. She was lovingly attended by Mable L. Young, Willie Jean Pullings, and Barbara Wesby.
In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made, if desired, to the Augusta Humane Society, P.O. Box 12035, Augusta, GA 30914, or St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church, 1420 Monte Sano Avenue, Augusta, Georgia 30904.
The family will receive friends in the Church Foyer, 11:30 AM until 12:00 PM. The family will have a reception in the Senior Center after the graveside service.
