Anne Louise (Glaske) Boone

February 2, 1943 — May 23, 2018

Augusta, GA – Anne Louise (Glaske) Boone, 75, wife of the late Frank T. Boone, was born in Grand Rapids, MI on February 2, 1943 and entered into rest on Wednesday, May 23, 2018.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018 at 3:30pm at Covenant Presbyterian Church with Reverend Stu Ritter officiating. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at United Methodist of Green Valley, AZ.

Anne was blessed with a gift of music and a love of teaching children – especially those with special needs. Anne earned a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Texas Lutheran College in 1964. She also earned numerous Special Education Certifications for all levels of mental development from Pre-K to 21 (SW Texas Teacher’s College, GLRS and Augusta College). Anne taught in TX, SC, and GA including LCHS Marching Band Director, Elem. Music & Chorus, and as an adaptive music teacher (K-21) for Richmond County Schools from 1973-2009 where she was twice awarded Teacher of the Year. After retirement, Anne was a substitute teacher and provided respite care. After moving to AZ, she worked with Easter Seals Project Search.

Anne’s biggest passions were her family, faith, children and music. She was a wonderful, fun and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She led Sunday school and VBS for many years in GA & AZ and was a member of the choir and hand bell choir. Anne was the Adaptive Scouting Liaison for the RCSD, SM of a co-ed adaptive troop, and served the GACAC for many years as day camp staff. For her service, she was twice awarded the District Award of Merit and the BSA’s Whitney M. Young Service Award. Anne was a 7-yr director of the adaptive summer camp – Camp Horizon, and was co-chair of Very Special Arts Georgia Dist. 10 and a member of their delegation to Washington, D.C. Anne was also the recipient of two awards from the Coalition of Children & Youth – The Friend of Children Award and The Child Advocate of the Year Award.

Anne had a beautiful soprano voice and was an opera singer in college. She also sang at Atlanta’s jazz mecca – Paschal’s La Carousel Lounge with the Toby Boone Quartet during the 1970’s. Additionally, she melodiously graced the Bon Air, Continental, Goldsmith’s, and La Café de Tau in Augusta, GA. Additionally, Anne was the writer and composer of over 20 musicals performed by adaptive music students.

Anne is remembered in love by many including two sons; Harry E. Langley, David B. Langley (Luzana), two daughters; Dawn Langley-Brady (James), Franchesca [Misty] M. Morris, two sisters; Arlene White (Pete), Joan Butler, nine grandsons; Doran M. Langley (Marianna), Ryan J. Langley, Alex J. Brady, Jacob Langley, William Morris, Harry B. Langley, Ben Langley, Otis Langley and Anthony Langley, five granddaughters; Jennifer A. Worrell (Trey), Rachel L. Langley, Savanna A. Russell (Cory), Miranda Langley and Aaliyah Langley, one great grandchild; Jordyn M. Russell and two daughters-in-law; Kathy Crowe and Kathy Langley.
