Ann Daniel Davis

Augusta, GA – Mrs. Ann Daniel Davis, 85, beloved wife of the late Mr. James Edward Davis Sr., entered into rest on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Westwood Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at St. Marks United Methodist Church at 11:00 AM with Reverend Charles Broome officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery.

Additional survivors are her three sons, James Edward Davis, Jr. (Lydia) of Martinez, GA , Thomas Carl Davis (Kaye) of Augusta, GA, Michael Daniel Davis (Sharon) of Woodstock, GA; six grandchildren, Jennifer Biddle (Gary), Katherine Smith, Kathleen Riley (Michael), Taylor C. Davis (Chelsea), Allison F. Davis, Laurie M. Davis; and six great grandchildren, Bristol Forrest Smith, Kayleigh Ann Biddle, Tabb Eli Davis, Jackson Abraham Davis, Shiloh Riley, and Jaeden Riley.

She was also preceded in death by her brother the late Mr. Herschel L. Daniel.

A native of Augusta, Mrs. Davis went to Mount St. Joseph High School . She was a member of St. Marks UMC where she was active in the Leila Cofer Circle, Young at Heart, God’s Lite Choir, and the Faith Discussion Sunday School Class. She served 20 years as Chairwoman of United Methodist Women’s Annual Church Bazaar, proclaiming every year that “this year will be the best bazaar ever”. For 10 years she hosted Young Women’s Ministry called God’s Girl’s with Charlene Scharite. Mrs. Davis retired from the Augusta National after 33 years. When she was not working at the Augusta National she did estate sales with her dear friends Flo and Betty.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 22, 2013 at the funeral home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
