SFC William A. McFadden (US Army Ret.), beloved husband, father entered into rest on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Fort Jackson National Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening prior to the service from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
William was born in Lake City, South Carolina in 1951. In 1975, he volunteered for the United States Army. He excelled in Military Service and spent over 21 years in the Army, rising to the rank of Sergeant First Class. His last few years were spent as a United States Army Recruiter, where he provided guidance and advice to young people as they started their career path in the Military. He achieved the highest award as a Field Recruiter (ARMY Recruiters Ring). Among the many army awards and honors he received were the Meritorious Service Medal, two Army Commendation Medals, Joint Service Achievement Medal, six Army Good Conduct medals, Army of Occupation Medal, National Defense Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon and his Expert Marksmanship Badge. He retired in 1996 as a E-7 SFC in the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie McFadden. His daughter Alechia Riley and her daughters Tre' Kela Leggett and Octavia Harris. Their children are as follows... Marcus, Tamia, Jaqueline Leggett, DeMarius, KaVonna, SaVanna, MaKai, Harris.
His son Dwayne McFadden and his children Elijah, Noah, Moses, Inayah McFadden.
