William Earl Hennen

William (Billy) Earl Hennen, Sr.,84, entered into eternal rest on November 1, 2021. Mr. Hennen
was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Hennen and Jewel Hennen Johnson, and by a son,
Michael Duane Hennen. Mr. Hennen moved to the Augusta area with his mother from
Washington, DC, where he was born. Here he met and married his devoted wife of 67 years,
Marie Denton Hennen.

Mr. Hennen pursued a career as a journeyman electrician and was a member of the IBEW
#1579 for 69 years. He traveled extensively with his work, often with the family. Later in life he
and Marie enjoyed traveling together and with their family as much as possible. Mr. Hennen
truly loved watching baseball, going on cruises and spending time in the mountains. He will
always be remembered as a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather and dear friend
to many.

In addition to being survived by his wife, Mr. Hennen is survived by, his sister, Carolyn Johnson
Faglier (Ronald) of Social Circle, GA; his three children, Phylliss Hennen Mosley (Carl) of
Harlem, GA, William Earl Hennen, Jr of Evans, GA and Lauri Marina Hennen of Loganville, GA;
his grandchildren, Jonathan Taylor and Carla Mosley Gilpin (Jordan); his great-grandchildren,
Jonathan Taylor, Jr, Kierstin Gilpin and Brantley Gilpin; and many nieces, nephews and great
nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be held at Platt’s Funeral Home on Belair Road, Evans, GA on
Thursday, November 4, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be held at Platt’s on
Friday, November 5, 2021 at 11:00 am with graveside service to follow at Westview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be William (Hop) Earl Hennen, Jr., Ronald Faglier, Carl Mosley, Jonathan Taylor,
Jordan Gilpin and Thomas Remkus.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Lake Park Baptist Church, Augusta, GA or Hands to
Paws, Augusta, GA.
