Walter Alexis Nieves Nieves

Walter Alexis Nieves Nieves, 44, of Grovetown, GA, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2026.

He was born on January 13, 1982, in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. He was the son of Wilber Nieves and Ramona Nieves, and the youngest of 3 siblings.

He graduated from Benito Cerezo High School in Aguadilla, P.R. He began his military career in the U.S. Army in 2003. He earned an Associate Degree and a Bachelor's Degree in Electronics. He worked at the Veterans Hospital in Atlanta. 

He is survived by his beloved wife Yadira Nieves, with whom he shared 21 years of marriage since September 2, 2005, and his sons Alexander, Adriel, and Yadiel Nieves.

He is also survived by his older children Angie Nieves and Angel Nieves. Walter Alexis was also a proud grandfather to Angie's 2 children and Angel's 4 children.

He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Platt's Funeral Home in Evans, Georgia. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
