Thomas Hugh Brazelton, August 16, 1970 - August 2, 2023

Tommy leaves his beloved wife Sharon, son Tommy & Katelyn, son Bradley & Jada, and daughter Harley to carry on his enduring spirit. His grandchildren are Evie, Abel, Cain and Felix. Devoted friends who are family: Darrel and Sherry Richards, Stephen and Amie Wheatley (Madison and Isabelle), Terry and Michelle Dempsey, Eric and Brittany Keller, Joe and Mary Caley, Ashley Justice, and Adam Holmes. He also leaves his favorite companions, the family greyhounds, Shades and AmyJo.

Tommy led a full and exciting life. He served in the Navy and Army National Guard, being deployed on 4 separate occasions and recipient of 2 Bronze Stars and the Army Achievement Medal. Tommy also spent many years in law enforcement. His favorite times were while working with his K-9 partner, Dillinger. He was also a member of the Winchester Masonic Lodge 158. He always encouraged others to contribute to Shriner's Hospitals. Tommy's favorite "job" was officiating middle and high school football, flag football, and baseball. He particularly enjoyed being at Harlem, Evans, and Greenbrier High Schools. He found great joy on the fields and being a part of the game. Tommy also loved playing golf and fishing. His trip to the UK while playing golf with the Wounded Warrior team against the Battle Back team was a highlight of his life. Tommy never met a stranger and his zest for life was infectious.

Tommy's wishes are to be cremated, and no service for "everyone to stand around crying". Instead, he has a final wish that is personal to all who knew him. Think of a favorite time you had with Tommy and go relive that if you can and think of him. He asked that you relay that or a favorite story to his wife so she can prepare a memorial for his children and grandchildren to read about him. You can find her on FaceBook as Sharon Brazelton or email her at brazelton.sharon@yahoo.com. His motto: Take the bad and make something good out of it per his good friend Phil Chockley.

If you feel the need to contribute financially, please consider The Wounded Warrior Project, Shriner's Hospitals or the local K-9 unit in your area. The family wishes to express their profound gratitude to the Emory Healthcare System for the excellent care they gave the entire family during this short but difficult period.

Just until we meet again, we will miss you.
