Shirin Ruth Shull was an only child to Robert Shull and Ruth Shull, née Tankersley, of Lexington, GA. Shirin spent two years at Georgia College for Women in Milledgeville before leaving to marry John Jordan and move to Augusta, GA in 1957. While raising their two children, Shirin taught kindergarten eleven years at National Hills Baptist Church, where she was already a faithful member. Shirin was a garden club member and in the Augusta Junior Woman’s Club. She later worked for Belk Department Store. After forty years of marriage, husband John died in 1997. Shirin was married to Talmadge Fennell from 2004 until his death in 2007. She remained socially active and deeply involved in her church and family. Her last four years were spent residing at Charter Senior Living at Augusta Gardens where she persuaded several friends to join her there. She participated in every activity, was president of the Sunshine Club, and continued serving others. She passed away peacefully in the early hours of November 17.

Shirin is survived by her children, Pam Harwood (Robert) and Steven Jordan (Pam); her grandchildren Shana Smith, Jordan Harwood (Kristin), Lindsay Lively (Andrew), and Leigh McKinney (Haddon); great grandchildren Marleigh Smith, McKinley Louise Smith, Jack Lively, Redding Lively, and Anna Ruth Lively.

Memorial contributions may be given to National Hills Baptist Church or one’s favorite worthy cause.

The family is thankful for the care and compassion given by all the staff at Charter Senior Living and Trinity Hospice.

A 10:00 am private burial will precede visitation with Shirin’s family in the National Hills Baptist Church Sanctuary at 11:00 am, Thursday, November 20, 2025. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 11:30 am in the sanctuary.
