Shelba Jean Edenfield

Mrs. Shelba Jean Edenfield, beloved wife of Jimmie Descombe Edenfield, entered eternal rest on Sunday, August 10, 2025.

Jean was one of five children born to Ray S. Cole and Margie E. Hicks in Langley, South Carolina.

She was a loving, caring mother. Devoted, doting grandmother and great-grandmother commonly known as Me-maw. In addition to being a proud member of Martinez Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ray S. Cole and Margie Hicks-Cole, husband, Jimmie Descombe Edenfield, brothers, Walter Cole and James Cole, and sister, Judy Anderson.

Jean is survived by her brother, Albert Cole (Opal), sons, Carl Glenn Edenfield (Della) and Jimmie Michael Edenfield, and one daughter, Julie Marie Dickens (Dennis). Grandchildren: Samantha Mellinger (Caleb), Brenton Dickens, Hallie Kohan (McKennon), Dalton Edenfield.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Tuesday evening, August 12, 2025, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Platt’s Funeral home on North Belair Road. A Graveside Service will be held the next day at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Bellevue memorial Gardens.
