Augusta, GA – Mr. Rocky Allen Moody, 23, entered into rest on Monday May 28, 2012 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday June 2, 2012 at Platt’s Belair Rd. Chapel. Burial will follow in Pineview Memorial Park.

Rocky served 6 years with the 878 Engineer Battalion of the Army National Guard as a 21B Combat Engineer/25C Radio Operator Specialist. He worked in the nursery at the Augusta National Golf Club, and was an Honor Graduate of the Youth Challenge Academy 2005. Rocky was a very sociable young man and loved by many. His infectious smile and curiosity for life will be remembered by all. With even only one encounter, he would have left an impression. Through everything in his life. Rocky got the most joy from being with his family and his dog, Roscoe. He was always there when needed and considered many of his friends family.

Survivors include his parents, Robert and Regina McFalls Moody of Augusta, GA; grandparents, Joel and Carole Norris of North Augusta, SC; one brother, Brandon Moody of Augusta, GA; two sisters, Jessica Moody Longshore and husband, Calvin of North Augusta, SC; Crystal Moody Pascarella and husband, Nathan of Augusta, GA; one niece, Breanna Moody; four nephews, Hunter Moody, Drew Moody, Alan Longshore and Jesse Longshore; and his devoted German Shepherd, Roscoe.

Rocky was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edward and Hildreth Moody of Augusta, GA; Raymond McFalls and Jessie Norris and his aunt, Cheryl Loggins.

Active pallbearers will be Marion Rolland, Joe Wilson, Howard Dye, Josh Devore, Marquis Veal, Austin Ducey, Carlos Walker and Trey Holloway. Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Brown, Tyler Gross, Chris Bonin, Chris Carlson, Josh Bailey and co-workers from the Augusta National Golf Club.

If so desired, memorials may be made to the National Guard Youth Challenge, Attn: Linda Dukes P.O. Box 7620, Ft. Gordon, GA. 30905 and the CSRA Humane Society, 425 Wood St. Augusta, GA 30904.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday June 1, 2012 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Platt’s Funeral Home.
