Robert Lee Voss

Robert Lee Voss, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on February 3, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on January 14, 1941, in Densmore, Kansas, Robert lived the majority of his life in the Kansas City area before moving to Augusta, Georgia, five years ago to be closer to family.

A dedicated professional, Robert retired as an electrical engineer for AT&T, where he left a lasting impact through his work. In addition to his engineering career, he owned and operated his own HVAC business, earning the affectionate title of "air conditioner whisperer." Robert was known for his remarkable ability to repair home air conditioners, often providing his services free of charge to those in need, reflecting his deep compassion and love for helping others.

Robert's family was pivotal in his life, and he cherished his wife, children, and grandchildren dearly. He spent many joyful moments surrounded by loved ones, sharing his wisdom and affection. His sense of humor was captured in his famous quote, “any ole kid can do it,".

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judith Earlene (Welty) Voss, who passed away in 2012.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Robin (Bill) Collins of Augusta; son, Jeffrey Voss and his significant other Denise Cauley of Missouri; grandchildren, Megan (Chris) Holly of Augusta, Dakota Collins of Augusta, Lori Oqinn of Missouri, Ashley Russell of Missouri; and great grandchild Eli Holly of Augusta.

Robert Lee Voss will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering dedication to his family. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to plant a tree in Robert's honor such as through the Arbor Day Foundation.
