Robert R. Briggs

Augusta, GA---Mr. Robert R. Briggs, husband of Farley Lawton Briggs, died Wednesday, March 11, 2009 after a long illness.
Mr. Briggs was a native of Greenville, SC. He graduated, in Business Administration, from the University of South Carolina, Columbia. He served for thirty years, as an agent for Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms. Following his retirement from ATF, he was a contract worker for the Office of Personnel Management, doing background checks, for the Savannah River Site. He was a United States Tennis Association Official and traveled, in the Southeast as a line umpire, for professional tournaments.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Margaret Briggs Wing, of Pembroke Pines, Florida and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Briggs attended the Church of the Good Shepherd, 2230 Walton Way, where Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 14, 2009.
