Mrs. Regis Jenkins Cooper, 92, beloved wife of the late John Jarrell Cooper, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at her residence.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 on Sunday, March 7, 2021, at West View Cemetery with Rev. Milton Summerall officiating.
Regis retired from King Mill after 34 years. Her younger coworkers referred to her as “mom” because she was such a good listener. She enjoyed her years of service there. Her passions were cooking and gardening. She enjoyed the outdoors with her pet squirrel, feeding the birds, and tending to her flowers. She was a loving wife and mother who loved making homemade biscuits everyday for her family. She was the happiest when she was with her family and her two cats, Demi and Boo. She was a member of First Christian Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Kay Nessmith (Ricky) Statesboro, Ga, her son, Ray Cooper, her brother Art Jenkins, and three grandchildren, Kelly Chappell (Scott), Michelle McNeill (Bubba) Bishop, Ga, Mitchell Cooper, New York and her great grandchildren, Mary Brinn Chappell, Vaughan Chappell, Lilly McNeill and Kate McNeill. In addition to her late husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, Grady Jenkins and Mary Bevill Jenkins, her brothers, Jack Jenkins and William Jenkins and her sister Rachel Youngblood.
The family would like to offer thanks to her caregivers Ansleigh, Leigh and Sonia from Regency Hospice.
If so desired, memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation at www.arthritis.org.
