Peter Budwick Jr.

Peter Budwick, 87, of Evans, Georgia, passed away on August 20, 2026 in Evans, Georgia.

Peter Budwick was born in Detroit, Michigan to Veronica Budwick and Peter Budwick Sr. on October 29, 1938. He married his wife Anita Budwick on March 19, 1998.

Peter lived a life marked by ambition, determination, and a willingness to take on new challenges. He proudly served in the United States Army as a member of the 101st Airborne Division. After completing his military service, Peter pursued a career as a professional wrestler and boxer with WWE. In 1977, Peter relocated to Augusta, Georgia to begin a new chapter as Director of Sales and Marketing for Castleberry’s Food Co. It was there that his entrepreneurial spirit truly took root. He founded his first building company, Bud-Rich Builders, and later went on to create Paramount Homes and establish several real estate companies. Over the course of nearly 40 years in building, development, and real estate, Peter left a lasting mark on the Augusta area. Among his proudest contributions was developing the first subdivision in Grovetown, Georgia. His vision helped spark the rapid growth that transformed Grovetown into the community it is today, earning him the nickname "the Pied Piper" from the mayor. Peter was also a part owner of the Augusta Lynx, an opportunity that allowed him to be closely involved with one of his favorite childhood passions—hockey. His larger-than-life personality quickly made an impression, and he affectionately earned the nickname “Big Pete” throughout the league. His final venture was the creation of Budwick Properties LLC, where he continued doing what came naturally to him: through owner financing, Peter helped many people achieve the dream of owning their first home. Through every chapter of his life, Peter was known for thinking big, working hard, and finding ways to create something lasting. His legacy lives on not only in the businesses, homes, and communities he helped build, but also in the families whose lives were changed because he gave them a chance to call a home their own.

Peter Budwick was preceded in death by his father, Peter Budwick Sr., his mother, Veronica Budwick; his late wife, Nellie Budwick; and his sister, Marilyn Sayre.

He is survived by his wife, Anita Budwick; his daughters, Gail Facey and Karen Eisele; Anita’s daughter, Anna Rolley and her husband, Sam; his brother, George Budwick, and his wife, Josephine; his grandchildren, Taylor Shellito, Austin Facey and his wife Mandy, Carson Facey and his wife Makayla, Adam Facey and his wife Rachel, and Logan Rolley; and his great[1]grandchildren, Brayden and Arya Shellito.

The family of Peter Budwick wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Patrick “Skip” Ealy for the many years he stayed by Peter’s side and was a devoted friend and companion.

Visitation with the family will be held from 2:00–3:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Platt’s Funeral Home in Evans, Georgia. A memorial service will immediately follow from 3:00–4:00 p.m., with Dusty Wammack of Quest Church officiating.
