Paula Daughtrey Williams

Paula Daughtrey Williams, 78, of Evans, GA, passed away on September 14, 2023 at home in Evans, GA surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Michael Paula Daughtrey in Langdale, AL to Willam Watson and Elsie Marie Hurley Daughtrey on October 24, 1944. She graduated with honors from Hephzibah High School, Augusta College, and Medical College of Georgia. She and Bernard Williams were married on July 22,1964 in Augusta, GA and were married until his death in 2011.

She worked as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist and Registered Nurse for Medical College of Georgia for many years.

She loved to cook, travel, sew, garden, read, sing, and draw. Paula was a gifted seamstress. Additionally, she was an amazing woman who sang beautifully and she was also was an artist. Most of all, she loved her family as she was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Paula is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, brother, and many other loved ones and good friends.

Paula is survived by her brother: Erik Daughtrey (Caroline), loving daughters: Marty Hill (Martyn), Jennifer Houk, (Mike) and Megan Underwood, Grandchildren: Jennifer Moore, Michelle Houk, Emily Scherer (Jesse), Marie White (Thomas), Jay Underwood (Haley), David Bollinger, Bryann Clark, and Zachary Houk: Great Grandchildren, Kaylee Bollinger, Henry Bollinger, Noelle Underwood.

Honorary pallbearers will be Erik Daughtrey, Martyn Hill, Mike Houk, Jesse Scherer and all of her grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to St. Judes Children’s Hospital.

The family of Paula Williams wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all of the medical professionals who rendered care and Promedica Hospice.

Visitation will be from 5:00pm - 7:00pm, Monday, September, 18, 2023 at Platt’s Funeral Home, 337 North Belair Rd Evans, GA 30809.

Funeral services will be graveside at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2700 Deans Bridge Road in Augusta, on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at 11:00am with the Reverend Roscoe Perry of Mount Carmel Baptist Church, officiating.
