Patricia "Patsy" Stone O'Neal

Patricia “Patsy” Stone O’Neal, 89, of Augusta, Ga, passed away on June 1, 2022 in Evans, Ga.

Patsy, known to her family and friends as “Mama Pat”, was born in Easley, SC to Martin C. and Bernice Stone on July 5, 1932. She was a Dental Assistant at the VA hospital in Augusta until her retirement.

She attended Pine View Baptist Church and was a member of their Senior Pine Cones Group and Senior Women’s Sunday School class.

Patsy is preceded in death by her parents; late husband, Clarence O’Neal; brother, John Stone; sister, Jane Humphries step-son, Richard Larry O'Neal and ex-husband and friend, Jack Powell.

She is survived by her two sons, John “Bill” (Pam) Powell and Mark “Steve” (Dianne) Powell; step-daughters, Linda (Steve) Smith and Sheila O’Neal; grandchildren, Jonothan (Christa) Powell, Farrah (David) Buki, Shannon (Tim) Holloway, Kia (Zach) Smith, Josh Kimbrell, Clay Kimbrell, Jennifer McCall and Rachel (Josh) Dawkins; Step-Grandchildren, Kimberly (Chris) Achenbach, Keith (Adrienne) O'Neal, Kris (Patrick) Shea; nine great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.

The family requests no flowers or memorial gifts. If you so choose, please make a donation to a charity of your choosing in Patsy’s honor. The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all the wonderful staff at Westwood Nursing Home who cared so much for Mother as well as all the love and support from family and friends.

A casual Memorial Service, officiated by Pastor Jerry Owens, will be on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at 4pm at Platt’s Funeral Home 337 N. Bel Air Rd. Evans, GA 30809. Please come as you are as a reception will immediately follow the service.
